Children's Outreach

...whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
Proverbs 14:31
Our Adopt-a-Child through Compassion
All offerings collected during Children's Church and Sunday School are used to sponsor Josue, our adopt-a-child through Compassion International. Josue is twelve years old and lives in Honduras with his parents and four sisters.
Our kids write letters to Josue from time to time and are encouraged to pray for him. This is a small way we can begin teaching our children about being in mission around the world and giving to others.

In April 2007, our Children's Ministry led our congregation in a collection of socks and underwear for children in Pasco county who are currently homeless or in transitional housing situations. We collected 72 packages of underwear and 60 packages of socks for kids who are desperatley in need of these basic supplies. Our congregation continues to collect supplies for the Pasco County Students in Transition program. |

During Vacation Bible School each summer, our kids make special gifts to send to impoverished children around the world. Each item is prayed over by the children and brought to the altar as an offering in the name of Jesus. Notes of love and encouragement as well as Bible books are included when these items are sent out:
June 2006: 20 warm blankets were sent to Honduras
June 2007: 120 prayer bears were sent to Africa
June 2008: 20 soccer balls were sent to South Africa
June 2009: 120 comfort critters were sent to North America
