Membership Expectations

When you join the church, you are asked to make a profession of faith and a promise of membership.  The following questions will be asked:

Profession of Faith...Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior, put your whole trust in his grace, and promise to serve him as your Lord, in union with the Church, which Christ has opened to people of all ages, nations and races?

Promise of Membership...As a member of this congregation, will you faithfully share in its ministry through your prayers, presence, gifts and service?

This second question carries with it these 4 expectations for members of Harvester:

1) Be present in worship - When members are in town and not sick, they are in worship.

2) Be part of a small group - All members are seeking to grow in faith through involvement in a small group that provides encouragement and support, as we become more faithful followers of Jesus.

3) Serve in some part of the church’s ministry - We are the body of Christ, and God has given each of us gifts for serving in his church to further its ministry.

4) Tithe (or be working towards becoming a person who tithes) - Members are striving to be faithful to God with all of their resources- their time, talent, and money.
